Cold Laser Therapy

For the past 20 years Cold Laser therapy has gained worldwide recognition by experts for its ability to reduce pain and enhance healing without drugs or invasive surgery. The goal of laser therapy is to deliver light energy which promotes damaged cells from a state of illness to a stable, healthy state. Our laser equipment is FDA approved, non-invasive, side effect and pain free, expedites faster recovery, and relieves pain without potentially harmful drugs.

How Does It Work?

The laser we use in the clinic is an MR4, Super Pulsed Laser, produced by Multi Radiance Medical. Cold, low-level laser treatment is kind of like photosynthesis for your body. There are 3 different types of light rays that are directed into the area being treated, which stimulates the mitochondria of the cell to increase ATP production. The light energy (photons) emitted by laser device is absorbed by body tissues which in turn causes a reduction of inflammation, pain, and tightness but most importantly, promotes faster healing of the injured or involved body tissues. Cold laser is completely different from common lasers used for surgeries. Cold laser is a therapeutic device similar to ultrasound.

The treatment time for the cold laser therapy differ based upon your condition - whether it's acute or chronic, but the treatment time usually takes about 5-10 minutes on average. There is no associated pain or discomfort with the application, although some patients have felt a warm or tingling sensation during the treatment. Following your laser treatment, it's imperative you drink a lot of water to help flush out the toxins that have been removed from the cell during the process as a part of your healing process. You can expect to carry on with your normal activities following a laser treatment.

How Long Does It Take To See Results?

Different conditions might vary in their response to cold laser therapy but majority of conditions respond in 6-12 sessions. During your consultation with Dr. Lenz the length of treatment for your specific condition will be discussed.

Does Cold Laser Therapy Make Patients To Feel Cold?

No. This name is only used to differentiate between the commonly used lasers, which are normally high intensity and generate heat to cut or do incisions, and low level laser therapy, which is low intensity and does not cut or generate heat but instead causes accelerated tissue healing and pain or inflammation reduction.

Does My Insurance Pay For Cold Laser Therapy?

Unfortunately no, but the good news is that cold laser therapy is quite affordable and is significantly less expensive when compared to other common laser therapies. We even offer competitive packages to help you achieve the most from your laser treatments.
